Black Glutinous Rice :: Bubur Pulut Hitam

Black Glutinous Rice aka Bubur Pulut Hitam



Ingredients
  • 300 gm Pulut Hitam (Black Glutinous Rice)
  • 1 keping gula melaka (palm sugar/brown sugar)
  • 1 tin santan (1 can coconut milk)
  • 1/2 cawan gula pasir (1/2 cup sugar)
  • daun pandan (screwpine leaves-knotted-optional)
  • susu segar (fresh milk)
  • sedikit garam (pinch of salt)
Preparation
1. Soaked the rice overnight.
2. Rinse the rice. Bring rice, water and salt to boiled, then reduce the heat.
3. Add screpine leaves, palm sugar and sugar (adjust the sweetness you like with sugar.
4. Add the coconut milk. Stirr occasionally, until mixture is thick and rice is tender but still slightly chewy, about 30 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature or warm. Add fresh milk when serving or if the mixture is too thick.
